What mount training does
Mounts are created by submitting one of your ants to the mount-training system described in current gameplay coverage. Training can succeed or fail. The important shared result is that the submitted ant leaves colony production either way. On success, the result becomes a ride; on failure, you still lose access to that worker as a producer.
No reliable current source publishes an exact success rate. Do not convert a few recorded attempts into a percentage. The decision should be safe even if the attempt fails: use a replaceable spare, keep the production line filled, and never submit an ant whose mutation or rarity makes it difficult to replace.
Choose a safe candidate
Start with the colony, not the trainer. Identify the ants currently filling slots and the weakest spare outside active production. A good candidate is not your only worker, best rarity, or expensive mutation target. Another placed ant should already cover the Food output you are giving up.
If the candidate is in a slot, replace it before training and complete a sell trip to confirm production still works. Keep enough Cash for the next useful Queen offer. Mount convenience does not compensate for an empty colony that can no longer fund upgrades.
The training sequence
Locate the current mount-training NPC or interaction in the live game. Open the interface and inspect the ant selected for submission. Current public guides describe selecting one of your owned ants rather than buying a generic vehicle. Confirm the displayed name, rarity, mutation state, and whether that ant is still assigned to production.
Read the confirmation message before proceeding. The interface may change after updates, so do not rely on a fixed button position. Submit only after the replacement and reserve checks are complete. Wait for the result instead of pressing the confirmation again during lag.
On success, inspect how the mount is equipped or summoned and test movement in a safe area. On failure, return to the colony immediately, check that all remaining slots are filled, and resume Food sales. The attempt should not trigger panic spending if you chose a spare correctly.
Compare the ride with ordinary movement
Current community guides describe mounts as a modest movement convenience rather than a production multiplier. They also report a return-to-colony control that already solves some long-distance travel. That makes a mount optional: useful for collection and travel goals, but not worth sacrificing the worker that funds the rest of the account.
Time an ordinary route and compare it with the mounted route only after success. Do not promise a speed percentage when the client does not display one. A mount can feel faster while still having little impact on total Cash if production, collection timing, or sale value is the real bottleneck.
Protect mutations and expensive ants
A mutation potion is an investment in a specific ant. Submitting that ant to training risks losing the productive use that justified the potion. Never use a mutated keeper as the first test candidate. The Mutation Removal item does not recover an ant after training, and no reliable source documents a reversal path.
Rarity matters for the same reason. A higher-rarity worker is harder to replace and supports more of the Food pipeline according to current guides. Use the Queen to find a replaceable duplicate before considering it for training. When in doubt, keep the worker and use ordinary movement.
Recover after a failed attempt
Return to the colony and inspect every active slot. Fill the empty position with the best available spare or visit the Ant Queen if the reserve can support a replacement. Complete a Food-to-Cash cycle before making another attempt. This confirms the economy has recovered.
Do not chase the loss by immediately submitting another good ant. The unknown success rate makes repeated attempts especially dangerous when the spare pool is small. Rebuild the roster, increase space only when it can be filled, and set a stopping rule before visiting the trainer again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a mount?
Use the current mount-training system to submit an owned ant. Training can succeed or fail, and the submitted ant leaves colony production either way.
What is the mount success chance?
No reliable exact percentage is available. Current gameplay only establishes that both outcomes occur.
Which ant should I train?
Use a replaceable duplicate or a weak ant that has already been replaced in its slot. Never start with the only worker, best rarity, or mutated keeper.
Can I get the ant back?
No reliable recovery method is documented. Plan as though the ant will not return to production.
Are mounts required for progression?
No. The official core loop is ants, Food, money, upgrades, and stronger ants. Mounts are an optional movement and collection goal.
What should I do before training?
Fill the ant’s former slot, protect a Queen reserve, confirm the selected target, and make sure the colony can continue producing if the attempt fails.
